CLARKSBURG: 9
The Rockets closed out their home schedule with a dramatic 10-9 victory over Clarksburg. The Rockets bolted out to a 7-0 lead in the early innings thanks to key hits by Truc Nguyen and good baserunning. However, Clarksburg clawed back to take a 9-7 lead during the top of the 6th. Fueled a leadoff single by Lauren Bolger and then a well placed bunt by Tanya Syarnubi, the Rockets roared back with 3 of their own in the bottom of the 6th to go back on top by 10-9. The afternoon wasn't over yet as the Rockets escaped from a two on, no out jam in the top of the 7th. Holly Shan struck out a batter and then got an infield pop up before Taylor Thomas made a strong play at shortstop to end the game and preserve the Rockets victory.
